"R" Is For Raindrops"

Photo & Poem by Gigi Ann
Raindrops
As the storm clouds drifted by
Raindrops softly dance like fairies on my window
Tapping softly, soothing pitter-pattering
on the roof. Close your eyes and listen.
As you drift off into slumber
The rain fades away quietly.
The sun peeks out
The dance is finished.

I remember that song.... and I love the poem and photo. I am sitting here with ominous blue-black clouds challenging us out of our windows - waiting for the impending deluge! How timely.

I thought of that song as soon as I saw the title!
It was more drizzly than rainy here today...

The song is now stuck in my head, even without watching the video...
There's nothing better than going to sleep to the sound of rain outside.

I love the way raindrops look. Beautiful shot. I used to sing that song to my daughter when we were in the rain until she got old enough to tell me to REFRAIN from singing it.

A lovely poem to accompany your raindrop shot. That would make an amazing photo texture. I love listening to rain while I'm curled up ready to take a nap!

Your poem is beautiful, Ann. I've always loved the sound of "soothing pitter-pattering on the roof" lulling me to sleep
